Shay is an outgoing and energetic 4th grader. Before being matched with a Big Sister, she had trouble behaving while she was at school. Her mother was also concerned about the friends Shay was making - she tended to be a follower and struggled with making her own decisions.

Chloe is a staff member at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri. She wanted to become a Big Sister because she knows the impact Bigs have on their Littles, as well as the impact Littles have on their Bigs. 

Little Sister Shay and Big Sister Chloe have been matched for just over a year now. They started as a school based-match and have transitioned to a community-based match.

When the match met at Shay’s school, they would have lunch together and then play games at recess or work on Shay's homework. Just recently, they began meeting in the community. Shay's mother has noticed that since Shay's been matched with Big Sister Chloe she's making much better choices about her behavior at school and is becoming a leader, not a follower!
